CLOSED- QA Engineer - 6 mo. contract with possibility for hire - downtown Boulder

SUMMARY


Our client is seeking QA Engineer for their downtown Boulder headquarters. This position reports to the QA Manager.

This is a 6-month contract with possibility for hire.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute test cases against Client and Operational facing software applications
  • On-going ad hoc testing of applications
  • Identify, analyze, and report application defects (e.g. detail steps to reproduce expected and actual results) and assist with resolution.
  • Write and execute test cases, test plans and document results
  • Verify that corrective actions meet quality objectives (e.g. verify resolutions and close bugs)
  • Assist in administrating defect tracking tool

Requirements:

  • Two years testing experience
    A background in manual testing background with an interest in learning automation preferred
  • Experience testing a Win 32 or Visual Basic application ideal. Understanding of SQL a plus.
  • Experience testing software for internal clients or internal distribution a plus
  • BA/BS Degree
  • Knowledge of
  • Microsoft Windows

  • Internet Explorer
  • Firefox
  • Ability to meet deadlines and schedules and be accountable for defined tasks
  • Must have attention to detail and be able to write and follow test cases and checklists.
  • Ability to document results of testing in a detailed and organized manner.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast, dynamic environment and maintain a professional attitude with team members
  • Working knowledge of trouble ticketing or bug tracking databases for reporting and managing defects
  • Strong interpersonal, communication skills & presentation skills, written and verbal
  • Able to work well independently
  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends
  • Experience working with remote development teams ideal
  • Experience working with frequent/short release cycles a plus
  • Experience with Mercury TestDirector a plus.
