The Opportunity: Application Support Manager

The backbone of our rapidly growing business is our technology platform and we are seeking a highly motivated and goal oriented Application Support Manager to join our team.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the implementation of mission and business critical systems in a production environment.
  • Defines and implements best practices for production management that focus on process improvement.
  • Develops service level agreements. Manages application support to those service levels to facilitate the effective utilization of the systems.
  • Coordinates and manages the successful implementation of Production Support driven projects such as data fixes, point releases, minor enhancements, technology upgrades.
  • Participates in project team activities prior to release and contributes to documentation as needed.
  • Tracks feature and bug requests for prioritization.
  • Communicates problem resolution and additional information to customer groups, project team and IT support groups.
  • Must be able to communicate technical and business problems in a technical manner.
  • Directs, motivates and develops staff, maximizing their individual contributions.

Ideal Qualifications:

· 5 years experience managing and supporting a production application environment.

· 2+ years experience in a development role.

· Experience leading/managing a team of 4 or more.

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

· Possess effective written and verbal communications skills for both a technical and non-technical audience.

· A strong understanding of ticketing systems to prioritize and manage workload.

· A strong understanding of Microsoft products and information systems development.

· Able to participate in a team environment and communicate effectively.

· Strong analysis and customer service skills required.

· Sound problem resolution, judgment and decision making skills required.

· Demonstrated development or operational experience of the following software

o Windows Server 2003

o SQL Server 2005

o Knowledge of Classic ASP

o Knowledge of ASP.NET (C#, VB.NET)

o Knowledge of VB6.

o Experience with Microsoft IIS.
