JOB DESCRIPTION

BASIC FUNCTION

Responsible for leading and participating in the activities associated
with identifying and analyzing network requirements to develop
detailed design specifications for data traffic and network
enhancements, coordinating assigned projects for completion from
beginning to end and effectively communicating results to end user;
coach and mentor designated staff in network engineering projects,
providing direction and support

MAJOR JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES Network Design - Provide network design
services which meet and exceed end user (i.e., client, internal
customer, etc.) needs, ensuring adherence to departmental policies and
procedures; coordinate and define network requirements (i.e. design,
configure, install, etc.) to include consulting with end users to
determine the scope and objectives of proposed networking
configurations; oversee the timely and accurate analysis of end user
requirements, evaluating if network configuration is possible with
existing resources and managing end user expectations to keep them at
a realistic level; develop and implement network back up and recovery
plans to maintain reliable network operating systems; develop detailed
implementation plans to accommodate network growth, security, and
enhancements by maximizing functionality of network equipment (i.e.
routers, gateways, switches, etc.); monitor network implementation,
providing support in an timely and accurate manner; know and support
approved corporate and departmental policies relating to business
procedures, philosophies and conduct; design network performance
reports, detailing network status, for management in an accurate and
timely manner Technical Research and Analysis - Analyze data traffic
patterns within network infrastructure, detecting operational problems
and recommending improvements to ensure optimal performance;
proactively identify symptoms and instabilities in a timely and
accurate manner to include performing analysis, capacity planning, and
testing for organizations network environment; make recommendations to
management on enhancements to network that will improve the quality
and reliability of the networks performance; provide recommendations
of the most cost-effective solution to management, including all cost,
procedural, and contractual considerations necessary to make
decisions; research and identify new technologies available that offer

project continually supports the attainment of corporate goals and is

and exceed expectations; meet with end user to determine the project
scope, providing direction and technical support during all project
stages or in a specific area as assigned; may prepare a project
calendar, discussing established timeframes with end users and update
calendar throughout the project, ensuring all timelines are met and
project is completed as scheduled; continuously monitor daily tasks
and project assignments in progress ensuring project schedule is being
met and schedule changes are addressed in a timely and accurate
manner; analyze and prepare project information and present

CLOSED - SQL Server Expert- Downtown Denver

We are looking for a SQL Server Expert to support the SQL Server part of the development.

This is not a DBA position (though candidate should possess all knowledge required for a DBA).

Instead, this position will be about 50% technical product development work and 50% customer-facing product management. We are looking for a rare candidate: someone with the technical skills to be a recognized leader in the office, but also someone who is comfortable traveling to customer sites, meeting with customers, and using those meetings to help define next generation features, outline potential customizations for the product.

On the technical side, the Position will require writing a lot of automation routines, stored procedures, and collection modules to monitor and collect statistical and performance indicators, give alerts, perform corrective actions, etc. Some database design will be involved. The product requires some very advanced real-time database monitoring and statistical collection. BASIC FUNCTION

MAJOR JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

Network Design

Technical Research and Analysis
Analyze data trafficpatterns within network infrastructure, detecting operational problemsand recommending improvements to ensure optimal performance;proactively identify symptoms and instabilities in a timely andaccurate manner to include performing analysis, capacity planning, andtesting for organizations network environment; make recommendations tomanagement on enhancements to network that will improve the qualityand reliability of the networks performance; provide recommendationsof the most cost-effective solution to management, including all cost,procedural, and contractual considerations necessary to makedecisions; research and identify new technologies available that offerbusiness advancements; provide written documentation to support therecommendation and benefits of implementing new technology; providenetwork security by configuring routers, switches, firewalls etc.according to our information security standards; monitor securitymeasures in place within network perimeter, ensuring security breachesdo not occur and information is safeguarded from unauthorized users,etc; ensure information is properly protected by assisting InformationSecurity in developing secure architectures.

Project Coordination
Coordinate and participate in activities associated with assignedprojects, following the project from beginning to end, ensuring theproject continually supports the attainment of corporate goals and iscompleted in a timely, accurate, and quality manner, striving to meetand exceed expectations; meet with end user to determine the projectscope, providing direction and technical support during all projectstages or in a specific area as assigned; may prepare a projectcalendar, discussing established timeframes with end users and updatecalendar throughout the project, ensuring all timelines are met andproject is completed as scheduled; continuously monitor daily tasksand project assignments in progress ensuring project schedule is beingmet and schedule changes are addressed in a timely and accuratemanner; analyze and prepare project information and presentrecommendations and analysis to department management for review;create and maintain project files that are well documented andefficiently organized, ensuring files include documentation for eachphase of the project which may include project calendar and supportdocumentation detailing project activities, results, implementation,technical reference guide, users guide, etc.; provide management withstatus reports throughout assigned projects detailing project statusand timeline, to include completing a project completion report todocument if all milestones and objectives were met.

Problem Resolution
Proactively oversee the activities involved in quality resolution ofcomplex technical issues, responding with an appropriate sense ofurgency to problems escalated to employee's level; coordinate withappropriate departments to determine positive solutions that increaseend user satisfaction, following through to completion, andcommunicating resolution results to end user; escalate to managementany situation that could adversely impact the service provided to theend user; monitor trends in documented incidents and determineappropriate actions necessary to eliminate future occurrences andimprove customer service levels in an appropriate timeframe; respondto 24-hour/7-day-a-week service needs while adhering to establisheddepartmental guidelines.

Staff Assistance
Provide support andassistance with activities of assigned staff by ensuring the functionis efficiently performed in a quality-oriented environment; in absenceof supervisor, responsible for assigning and monitoring staff workloadand setting departmental priorities; assist staff in striving toprovide the highest level of quality, responsive service possible;provide performance input to supervisor regarding activities ofdepartmental staff; may be required to support supervisor inresponding to inquiries and conducting research and analysis.

Team Interfaces
Establish a good working relationship with team members,department contacts, and end users in order to maintain andcontinuously strive to improve the level of overall service beingprovided; assist with performing quality review of services beingprovided and department interactions by escalating work flow andcommunication issues to management staff to help identify trendsindicating the need to revise existing methods and procedures related.
