LAMP Developer

We seek a part-time LAMP (20-60 hours a month, your option), largely by telecommuting. Candidates must be well skilled in Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP (PERL/Python/Ruby skills a plus). Web frameworks are a plus as well.

While we don't mind if you have some other projects going on, we are not looking for a moonlighter: that is, someone who already has a full-time job from 8-5. You must be able to come into our office in Golden/Lakewood when needed for meetings, so you have to be located within easy reach of the Denver area.

Preferably, we want someone who has already done this type of work and is experienced with remote communication.

Job Description

We have a product that allows IT shops to automate many routine and non-routine tasks in IT operations. These tasks can range from provisioning of servers and related applications, application of patches, checking on relative health of various systems, to building an automation plan for disaster recover. This individual will be the lead consultant for implementation of automation for our clients. As such this person will be responsible for doing necessary discovery and requirements gathering work to produce an automation plan for our client, install, configuration and necessary programming of our Automation product to aid in implementation of automation plan. Often times our projects will be single person projects so they will be asked to work directly with client and work to not only carry on execution but manage client expectations.

Skills & Experience Required

* Strong understanding of IT operations and DB administrations as demonstrated by 3- 5 years in the IT administration arena or building / administering systems that support this area.
* Strong familiarity with IT system administration and processes within a datacenter that supports daily IT operations. Ideal individual will have been a DBA and/or system admin themselves. Individuals with strong experience in administration of SQL, Oracle will be highly preferred.

* 3-4 years experience programming in Java or Transact SQL. Experience as well in a scripting language such as KShell.

* 2 -3 years Consulting or pre-sales experience where they have had to do requirements gathering, manage client expectations.

* BS in computer science or IT systems -- or equivalent experience.

SUMMARY

Our client is seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer for their downtown Boulder headquarters. Responsible for defining and utilizing automation tools and methodologies as well as creating, maintaining, and enhancing automated test scripts and establishing scripting standards. Strive to ensure that system requirements are satisfied for internal and external application users. Ensure project testing is complete and testing risks are identified prior to implementation.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with QA and development teams to initiate automation test standards, process and best practices.
  • Define and utilize automation tools and standards to improve effectiveness and to increase efficiencies in the QA process. Drive automation test planning, test case design and test script walkthroughs with QA and development leads.
  • Initially, responsibilities include manual testing. Ultimate responsibilities include defining, developing and maintaining automated test processes, scripts and test environments. Review automated test scripts and provide feedback to team members.
  • Independently execute automated test plans and test scripts based on planned project schedules and in accordance with QA methodology.
  • Record and track defects uncovered during the execution of tests scripts. Drive defect toward resolution; proposes and designs retest cases, scripts and data. Contributes to the defect management: defect status, root cause.
  • Provide timely and accurate status on defect information and appropriate metrics to facilitate QA reporting. Report individual status: open issues, risk analysis.
  • Review requirements and specifications and provide input during requirements or specification walkthroughs.
  • Develop and execute SQL queries.
  • Understand and contribute to the process of test estimates and project schedules.

Qualifications:

  • Experience migrating from a manual to an automated QA environment.
  • Must have three or more years experience in QA and test automation
  • Experience using automated testing tools like Mercury QuickTest Pro, WinRunner, LoadRunner, Silk, Rational or writing test harnesses
  • Must exhibit understanding of software development best practices and must demonstrate experience with programming aspects of automated scripting such as use of data tables, variables/parameters, exception handlers, and functions

Looking for a very senior .Net developer with lots of recent, hands-on technical experience. Must have experience with consulting, working independently, working in remote teams, working with minimal requirements documentation, etc. Must be an expert with ASP.NET, C#, object-oriented programming, and developing with SQL Server (don't need to be a DBA). Experience with reporting tools - particularly ActiveReports and/or XtraReports - is a plus. Must be flexible and be willing to work with older technologies as well. Must be able to produce quality results quickly with little instruction.

This can be a full-time or part-time contract (1099 only, corp-to-corp ok) for 3-6 months with good possibility for extension. Your time would initially be split between telecommuting and working in office in Lakewood/Golden area. As you increase familiarity with the project, you can spend more time telecommuting.

This software (written in Java) currently supports Oracle, SQL Server, and DB2 (possibly will expand to Sybase, MySQL, Informix).

We are looking for a SQL Server Expert to support the SQL Server part of the development.

This is not a DBA position (though candidate should possess all knowledge required for a DBA).

Instead, this position will be about 50% technical product development work and 50% customer-facing product management. We are looking for a rare candidate: someone with the technical skills to be a recognized leader in the office, but also someone who is comfortable traveling to customer sites, meeting with customers, and using those meetings to help define next generation features, outline potential customizations for the product.

On the technical side, the Position will require writing a lot of automation routines, stored procedures, and collection modules to monitor and collect statistical and performance indicators, give alerts, perform corrective actions, etc. Some database design will be involved. The product requires some very advanced real-time database monitoring and statistical collection. This is a dream job for a SQL Server expert who does not want to be an on-call DBA and constantly do fire-fighting.
